This 2023-2024 season is our 28th in the Ski East High School League. The ski team's focus for the season is for each athlete to become a better skier, racer, and to be a supportive team member. Participants are expected to know how to ski; however, prior race experience is not required. All team members should have the opportunity to race and be expected to race.
For compatibility, the core Hingham Ski Team pages are mirrored between Hingham Sports and Ski East League websites. For league information, rules, and race results, navigate to Ski East League here.

As a League, the Ski East League has determined that each team can bring 46 athletes per practice and race.
BLUE HILLS: Ski East has access to Blue Hills on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tuesdays are practice nights and Wednesdays are Varsity races.
RAGGED MOUNTAIN: Ragged races are scheduled as noted on the calendar. The bus leaves HHS's front parking lot at 5:00 AM and returns around 6:30 PM.
Lodge Access: There will be lodge access for teams. HHS meets on the third floor. We can leave our belongings there off to the side, NOT under or on the tables. Sharing is caring, it can be fun!
The team has two squads, varsity (V) and junior varsity (JV). The top ten girls and boys are eligible to score for Varsity. JV racers will be rotated through race events, giving them valuable experience and time on the hill. Varsity and JV practice together, and movement between Varsity and JV often occurs. While we hope to be able to accommodate all student-athletes who register, team size is ultimately be determined by logistical limitations.
Skiers are evaluated as early in the season as possible and team members are selected based on performance at practice and time trial results (December 17th)
Attendance at all practice and team events is expected. Unexcused absences may affect a racer's position.
Skis, boots, goggles, poles, and clothing are the responsibility of the skier. It is the skier's responsibility to make sure that skis are tuned, waxed, and in racing shape. Students will not be allowed on the bus without a helmet, which must have HARD EAR COVERINGS. Since we will be skiing at night at BH, clear or lightly tinted goggles are recommended. Goggles for Ragged can be altered as the weather indicates.
All varsity racers will be issued a Hingham Ski Team GS suit and are required to wear these GS suits for each race. Remaining GS suits will be given to JV racers as size and number allow. As this is not swimming, you are expected to bring proper clothing to be outside for most of the day. Please plan accordingly.
